Test Their Metal by pablo February 22, 2011

The only thing that Ike has more of, is stars.
Maybe that's why Ike's are bigger

Bear with me,or just move on!

I've wondered for a long time about Ike's medals. I've never seen him wear more than a few. So I scoured the "Internets" to see what I could find.
The above photo is the one where Eisenhower wears the most of his metals. Since the photo is not in color, I cant suss them out, but I imagine they are the US awarded ones only. He and Petraeus are allowed to wear their foreign awarded medals if they so desire, and I assume Petraeus desires.
The total of awarded metals are Ike 65, Petraeus 35.
So I guess that answers my nagging question...Eisenhower was humble, Petraeus, not so. (although he did win a Bronze star for Valor)
Ike never actually fought in a war, but he sure did tell a lot of brave soldiers where, when, and how to fight!
Bradley hated Patton and Montgomery, Patton hated everyone, and Monty didn't hate, he loved...himself, so Ike didn't have to be a great warrior, he had to be a great herder of cats, cats with BIG claws!
IMHO, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, and Marshall. They saved the world.
Now as a President....don't get me started!
